Other Consular Services

Attestation of Documents

1.       The Embassy attests copies of original documents such as Birth certificate, Marriage certificate Education certificate, Salary certificate, NRI certificate, Power of Attorney, Affidavits etc.  For availing the service, Miscellaneous Services Form can be downloaded from the website:  https://www.indianembassymonrovia.gov.in/forms.php  Forms are also available at the Embassy.
Note: The documents originating in Liberia requires prior attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia
Documents required:
(a) Miscellaneous services form duly filled.
(b) Passport (original and photocopy - first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia).
(c) NRC/Residency Permit (original and photocopy).
(d) Two recent passport size photographs
(e) Original document with 2 sets of copies each.

Power of Attorney

2.       The Power of Attorney (POA) has to be executed in person before a Consular Officer in the premises of the Embassy.  Miscellaneous services form can be downloaded from the website https://www.indianembassymonrovia.gov.in/forms.php

Documents required:
(a) Miscellaneous services form duly filled.
(b) Passport of both spouses (original and photocopy first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia.
(c) Two recent passport size photographs.
(d) NRC/Residency Permit (original and photocopy).
(e) Power of Attorney notarized in the presence of two witnesses with a photo affixed (original and photocopy)

Note: For Foreign passport (other than Indian passport) holders, the Power of Attorney would be treated as Attestation and prior attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is mandatory for such POAs before the attestation by this Embassy


Marriage Certificate

3.       Miscellaneous Services Form and affidavit can be downloaded from the website https://www.indianembassymonrovia.gov.in/forms.php
Documents required:
(a) Miscellaneous services  form duly filled
(b) Passport of both spouses (original  and  photocopy - first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia)
(c) Two recent passport size  photographs (see ‘Photograph guidelines’)
(d) NRC/Residency Permit (original and  photocopy)
(e) Documentary evidence of marriage such as wedding card or photographs and  photocopy
(f) Affidavit confirming the marriage duly notarised by a Notary Public or certified by a gazetted officer in India. The date and place of marriage should be mentioned in the Affidavit. (original and  photocopy)

NRI Certificate

4.       NRI certificate is issued at the request of an Indian Passport holder (resident in Liberia for over six months) for the purpose of admission of his/ her son/ daughter/ ward in Colleges/ Universities in India under the NRI Quota or for any other specific purpose. Documents required:
(a) Miscellaneous services form duly filled.
(b) Passport (original and photocopy - first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia).
(c) NRC/Residency Permit (original and photocopy).
(d) Two recent passport size photographs (see ‘Photograph guidelines’).
(e) Letter from the employer mentioning  period of stay in Liberia (original and  photocopy )

Timely submission of Birth Registration and other Consular services

5.       Embassy of India is receiving many late applications for Registration of Birth of new-born child after the stipulated time of one year of actual birth and also for re-issue of Indian passport after its expiry date.
       It may be clarified that after expiry of one year after birth, the applicant is required to submit a valid explanation for delay as well as confirmation from the Ministry of Interior of Liberia that the infant has not acquired the Liberian citizenship.
       It has been noted that applications for re-issue of passport are being received after the expiry of the passport which takes a longer processing time. It may be noted that the applicants can apply for re-issue of passport one year in advance to avoid procedural delays.
       All Indian nationals are hereby advised to initiate the application process well in advance to ensure that the applications for Birth Registration/Re-issue of passport are submitted to the Embassy timely.

Birth Certificate or Registration of Birth

6.       The Embassy, when issuing a birth certificate to children born in Liberia of Indian parents, will also register the birth of the child. This is to be registered within one year of the birth. Application form can be downloaded from the website: https://www.indianembassymonrovia.gov.in/forms.phpand submitted along with the following documents.
Documents required:
(a) Form duly filled.
(b) Passport of parents (original and photocopy - first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia).
(c) NRC/Residency Permit (original and photocopy).
(d) Two recent passport size photographs (see ‘PhotographGuidelines’).
(e) Birth certificate of the child (original and photocopy).
(f) Declaration from the parents that the child does not hold passport of any other country(original and photocopy).
(g) Marriage Certificate of parents with English translation notarised (original and photocopy).

Life Certificate attestation
7.       The Embassy of India provides Life Certificate attestation service to the applicants.

Documents required:
(a) Duly-filled Miscellaneous Services Form (which can be downloaded from the Embassy’s website: https://www.indianembassymonrovia.gov.in/forms.php    (b) Passport (original and photocopy - first two pages, last page and first entry into Liberia). (c) NRC/Residence Permit (original and photocopy). (d) Two recent passport size photographs (see ‘photograph guidelines’). (e) The form without signatures of the applicant (to be signed in presence of Consular Officer/staff).
(f)  Pension book (for pension purpose only-original and photocopy).
Fee: For pension purpose US$ 2 in ICWF Account
For other purpose US$ 20 in Consular Services Account and US$ 2 in ICWF Account.
